ArchivalResource

Honorary Degree records, 1749-2001.

Files are arranged alphabetically by last name. While not every individual who has ever been awarded a degree is represented by a file, the vast majority are. Files typically contain biographical information, information about the degree type and the year it was awarded, and in the case of more recent recipients some correspondence and photographs. Also in the collection is the William K. Selden manuscript, "A History of Honorary Degrees at Princeton University 1748-1987" and a series of index cards listing recipients by year.
